This is necessary because tax depends, among other criteria, according to category, number of seats etc. If you are not sure about the correct type, choose the one you consider more appropriate, from the pictures above, and at the end of the form choose to be contacted.

Type I
Passenger vehicles, and Mixed use vehicles refered at Decreto-Lei nº 50/93, article 1, nº 5, al.b
Type III
Work Vehicles, originated from passengers vehicles
Type IV
Mixed use vehicles, e word vehicles refered at Decreto-Lei nº40/93, article 1, al.a) and b)
Type V
Work Vehicles with open truck, or without truck + 3 seats (driver included), 4 wheel drive
Type VI
Vehicles refered at Decreto-Lei 40/93, article nº 11: Mixed use vehicles + 2300 Kg, no 4 wheel drive
